Alisa's Challenge

WOW!! Two colour challenges in ONE day!! How wonderful! It's been the best Saturday :0)
This one is from Alisa's blog
So here it is, I've made this card for a sweet little girl's birthday tomorrow!
What do you think?? I got the scrunched flower idea from the paper caper and loved it so had to try it myself! enjoy
smiles Sharnee :0)

Flower Birthday Card Set: It's your Birthday & Polka Dot (background) Card: Confetti White, Purely Pomergrante,
Regal Rose & Garden Green (textured) Ink: Purely Pomergrante Acc: Scallop circle Punch, 1 3/4 circle punch,
1 1/4 circle punch & Regal Rose ribbon
The wonderful Kristina has come up with another super colour challenge this week! I was feeling quite challenged as it includes a new colour for me, it's one of the new "in colours" that is being released with the new catty... (only 4 more sleeps ladies!!) Tangerine Tango is it's name, and as you can see it's quite bright, much more than Pumpkin Pie but not quite as out there as Only Orange!! Anyway I took my goodies to my Mum's craft afternoon yesterday and came up with this wonderful card! I'm soooooo happy with it!! I do need to say though that i was having a little trouble with the layout, which square piece should i have where?? I had all the bits there but there was just something not quite right!! So.... I asked the lovely Michelle (who was sitting next to me, and is also a demonstrator and great creator of cards) what her thoughts were and with one simple suggestion there it was-the perfect card!!!!
Please leave a comment and tell my your thoughts..... I'm really hoping that one day when i do one of these challenges that my little creation will be picked as Kristina's Top 10!!! Who knows maybe this time :0)

FRIEND CARD: Set: Good Friend (new set) Card Stock: So Saffron, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip & Tangerine Tango Ink: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron & Versa Mark Acc: White embossing powder, Double stitched Choc chip ribbon & Choc chip marker

We had our first camping trip the other weekend (it was a long one) as a family and WOW!! It was wonderful! We had so much fun, the kids had a ball and Allan got in LOTS of skiing!! I wanted to share some pic's with you. As you can see the tent was very VERY close to the lake (Blue Lake) and the scenery was simply stunning! We look forward to going back again soon.

Lolly Bags

Last week it was Amanda's birthday and we were all invited for a coffee and cake night out! It was a wonderful evening of chatting and eating and chatting and drinking! So much fun!! At present opening time we all watched as she opened each gift with the utter-most of care, and then all oooed and ahhed at the contents! It was wonderful. Now as you all know, when you throw a children's party there are always the lolly bags to consider. What appropriate gift do you put inside, will there be a balloon or just some sugar free lollies this time, perhaps some stickers!! The ideas are endless!
Well when one lovely lady had to leave early, Amanda rose to her feet to present her with a "lolly bag" Oh what JOY!! We all wanted to leave then and there just to get our little goodies too!! It was such a beautiful gesture and one we all loved! After all aren't we all BIG KIDS at heart xx

Invitation Ideas

It's a beautiful Sunday morning, the sun is shinning after it raining on and off since yesterday arvo and well, I've just had a sleep in (only till 8.15am mind you) but still a sleep in!! The kids are happily playing in their rooms and i have time to blog!!
What a great way to spend a Sunday morning.
I wanted to show all you lovely ladies the cute little invites that i made for Sophia's 3rd Birthday. She had a ballet theme and so i went with the gorgeous pink and blue colours with glitter!! All girly cards MUST have glitter don't you think?? So on it i used the new chunky glitter from the Summer Mini (which will be finishing at the end of the month.)
I must say the flowers in the cornor where inspired by my very talented up-line Amanda who's birthday invitations were absolutely stunning!! I LOVED THEM!!

It's so easy to make your own invites, especially when you have the "Please Come" stamp set (which by the way is NOT retiring...YAY!!) I've used this set for wedding invites, Christmas Parties, baby showers, it's great!!! I'll hunt out some of my other ideas for you all soon, but in the mean time here is Soph's invite and Amanda's gorgeous one too!! ( she was more than happy for me to post it, over the moon might be closer to the feeling!! Hello Amanda-thanks!!)

Favourite Bird set

Wow it seems like ages since I've touched base here...sorry! How are you?? Hopefully enjoying a wonderful week, it's still gorgeous weather and well it's only 20 more sleeps till the new cat is out so that should definitely put a smile on your face!! :0)
Of course with April fast approaching we still have all those wonderful retired sets to get and i wanted to show you a card i made using some of them. It's my favourite bird set - In touch with Nature and my fav background - Paisley!! Oh how i will miss that!! LOVE IT!!
From the words of a wonderful lady Sarah Klass... (who's blog i regularly visit)
" All I can say is that there had better be some jolly impressive backgrounds in the new catalogue!"
Amen to that Sarah, i completely agree, as Linen is also going and that is my other fav too! So i hope that you've checked out your wish list and made SURE that your favourites aren't going before it's too late!!
Have a smiley and sunny day, Sharnee :0)

CUTIES!!

Don't you just LOOOOVVVEEE Opp-shopping!!?? Well i sure do!! One of the wonderful things that my mum taught me and something i enjoy greatly but don't do it any where near enough. So today we went to our local store (looking for things to dress up in for Sophia's 3rd birthday Ballet party) and what did we find instead, a great woolen blanket to take with us camping this weekend (it's our first camping trip as a family!) a sailor hat and a Captain Feather Sword costume!! FUN!! Well as you can see all the kids wanted to try it on and have pic's taken so i thought I'd show you guys too!!
(hello especially to Auntie Sarah who loves seeing photo's of her niece's and nephew!)

Saying Goodbye...

I played with my brayer last night ready for Paper Dolls stamp club Thursday. Each month i teach different techniques to "my" wonderful group of ladies, and this month i decided to show them how to use a brayer. I must admit I've had it at least 5 months and my son is the only one who has used it!! This being because the day i got it we needed to make a card and he wanted to use it for his card! I said yes then put it away never to be used again... UNTIL NOW!!!
I wanted to use the "in" colours before we say goodbye to them and also played with some retiring stamp sets.
Stamps: Oh so lovely (retiring hostess set) and Life Definitions
Ink: Purely Pomergrante and Basic black
Card stock: Confetti white

Acc: Brayer, White embossing powder, soft sky ribbon
