Perfectly Rustics challenge #28 Ribon, Bow or Ruffle

Here we are to share and inspire some Ribbon, Bow or Ruffle at Perfectly Rustics this fortnight!! I've made a little box using the Apothecary Die and some yummy Pistachio Pudding card stock! I first saw this idea HERE and I've made it once before HERE, it's amazing how different you can make it with changes of colour and embellishments!!

I stamped around the box with the lines from the wonderful set Gorgeous Grunge, and the little tag is made with the cute cupcake stamp from Sketched Birthday!

Have you tried to make a bow with the envelope punch board!! WOW you really should!!
Do check out the other fabbo design team members and get your ruffle on and create something!! Can't wait to see what you do!

CASE-ing the Catty challenge #2 - Memory Keeping

Week two at CASE-ing the Catty sees us getting excited about Memory Keeping! (pages 24-41) Whether that's in the form of traditional scrapping, This and That journals or the latest line from Project Life there is something for EVERYONE in keeping those memories and preserving them for generations to come! I LOVE all the ways you can record your fav moments but for today's inspiration I've chosen a card to CASE! You'll find it on page32 of the catty... right in the middle of the Simply Serif Mini Alphabet bunting.....

I loved the layout of that card so with some tweaking this is what I came up with......

The Dictionary background stamp is a new one in my collection but I can tell already that it's going to be a fav for sure!! The bird image is from a Hostess set called Hello Love and the frame piece (as well as that little shape in behind) is the Apothecary dies! I placed some little sequins on my card but it didn't look right so I left it clean and simple!!
Had you spotted that card in amongst all that memory keeping?? You'll be surprised what you'll see when you pour over the pages of the Stampin' Up! catty!! Don't forget to check out all the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the designers, you'll be WOWED for sure!

DIY Fun pack for kids!

It's nice to make gifts for those you love and when a family friend was turning 4 I thought of this cool idea for a Fun pack! My amazing friend has these little beauties for her treasures and I've been wanting to make something myself like it so here is my take on a special travel pack for kids!

All you need is one of those old, VERY OLD VCR cases (you can honestly pick them up for 50c at the op shop!!! BARGAIN!!!)
Then with some DSP of choice you cut it to size and slip it in the plastic cover! Make some envelopes that fit inside PERFECTLY thanks to the envelope board, cut out some labels (I used the Apothecary die framlits) and decorate!! The Zoo babies got a great workout for this pack along with the sweet Petite petals punch!

Finally you fill it with some A4 paper, stickers, pencils and any other "fun bits" to make your gift just right! Needless to say the gift was LOVED and now I know what else to make for future "kiddy" presents!! YAY!!

CASE-ing the Catty challenge #1 - Gift and Packaging

It's that time lovely people!!! Time to start a wonderful adventure of a new challenge!!! YAY!!!
It's called CASE-ing the Catty and I'm one of the lucky ladies who is part of the design team!!! YAY, YAY!! I'm sooo excited to be able to bring to you my inspired projects from the 2014/2015 Stampin' Up! Catalogue along with a wonderful team of fellow Stampin' Up lovers!!
So to kick things off for our first week we are looking at the Gifts and Packaging section (pages6-23) and my CASE has come from page 7!! See that little streamer party stick?? (it might actually have a proper name..... let me know if it does!!) well that's what I wanted to make for my envelope board gift bag which I found the instructions for HERE. All you need is the fringe scissors a thin strip of cardstock (or DSP) and then roll it up around a toothpick! Spread it out a little, you can roll it over a pencil or your bone folder (if you're very careful) and there you have your gift bag streamer thingy!! hee he!
The DSP I used is another new product called Lullaby, sentiment from the Creatively Yours stamp set (perfect for the angel policy) die shape from Apothecary framelits and lastly baked brown sugar thick twine!

Do make sure you check out the other design team's inspiration!! You are sure to have your creative juices flowing and be ready to go with some fun goodies for your next workshop or club night!! After all it is all about CASE-ing the Catty!!!!

Perfect Pennants scrapbook page

I'm loving my scrapbook page for this month happily hanging in my "ladies room!" It using the very groovy stamp set Perfect Pennants and I think it's done exactly that! Made the bunting PERFECT!!
There are a few retired goodies in there but also some very current ones, like the wooden arrow, the chevron punch negative, gold sequins and the die to the Perfect Pennants!

I do love scrapping, it's such a great feeling to have your memories preserved for generations to come! I'm also loving playing with some Project Life goodies lately, I must show you that soon!

Perfectly Rustics challenge #27 - A layout

Well we have just celebrated our first anniversary at Perfectly Rustics and now we are on challenge #27 with a great layout from Kim!
I've been going a little crazy on Mustaches lately and so it's no surprise that my scrap page is all about just that!! A couple of years ago my most amazing friend Carli gave me a wonderful Munchtaches cookie cutting set!!! OH HOW I LOVE IT!!!! The children also have LOADS of fun whenever we bake a batch and this is one of those occasions.......
I can't believe how quickly they have grown from then till now.......

I used a whole bunch of fun DSP from the Moonlight DSP stack and also the Lullaby DSP pack. I've certainly got a thing for the new in-colour Hello Honey!! It's really yummy!!!
That groovy little days of the week card (which I made look a little like a file card-CUTE!) is from Project Life pack Everyday Adventure!

The title is done by stamping some more Project Life goodies the Day to Day stamp set. It's super easy, you just stamp a few of the months that have the letters you need and then cut them apart!! I love the fun quirky look it gives you!!

If you want to know how to make the "mo's" go HERE for my step-by-step instructions!!! So that's my take on the challenge, I hope that it's inspired you to play too!! Don't forget to check out our other wonderful designers Kim and Cathie!

DIY PUNCH ART Mustaches {fancy Male cards}

It's very important to make sure they look real!! hee he
Here I am trying on the Walrus!
(mustache names from HERE)

I'm here again as promised to show you how to make your very own Punch art Mustaches!!! This all began when I was feeling much too impatient to wait for the brand new Mustache die featured in the New Stampin' Up! Catalogue!!! So I had a play and here is a selection of what I've come up with to DIY!!
These are the punches I used:

 Elegant butterfly
Bird builder
Decorative label

Now for what to do:
 Mustache #1: IMPERIAL
bird punch

Fold back the birds head and stick down,
(you need two) Then place side by side

Mustache #2: PETITE HANDLEBAR
bird wing punch
This one uses the bird wing, trim some of the wing
down a little like pictured above.
Once you've done one then place on top of the other and follow the shape!

Mustache #3: CHEVRON
 butterfly punch
Turn butterfly upside down and trim off smaller wings,
then cut out little "head" piece

Mustache #4: ENGLISH
Decorative label

I'm sure you've seen this trick, it's a little bracket when on it's side
but flip it horizontally and you have a Fancy mo!

Mustache #5: WALRUS
decorative label
Cut the scallop edgy bits off, then cut in half!
Use the wonderful new fringe scissors to finish it off!

Of course you can flip some of these ( like the top two on this card sample)
either way depending on the Mo you're after!!
from top: decorative label, wing, butterfly
and decorative label!

Now just pop your Mustache/s of choice on your card!!!
 DONE!!!
from top: wing, butterfly, decorative label & bird!

I hope that you go and give these a try!! They sure are a lot of fun and if you're anything like me you just won't be able to stop at one!!
