Just Add Ink challenge #228 and Sketch n' scrap #63

It's been a while since I've joined in on some challenges and as my calander was DESPERATELY needing an August page (I know it's taken me till the 23rd to get one for it!!!!) I jumped in on a really challenging colour combo at Just Add Ink and a sketch at Sketch n scrap!! I've found if you want to get some crafting done quickly that turning to challenges is a great way to start!!

Kim has often commented on how wonderful the sketches are at Sketch n scrap and this sketch was lots of fun to work! The colours however at JAI were tricky to work with (even though I really liked them) Hey that's why they call it a challenge and with the amazing inspiration the ladies provided I knew I could work with them somehow!!! Now I look at it finished I'm thrilled with the end result and LOVE this page of Esther dressing up!!

I really like the stripes of the DSP (moonlight paper stack) with the stripes of Esther's dress and the way I've been able to have LOADS of fun with a black marker (the Project Life journal pen) with drawing and frames! After all she is dressing up as Mrs Squiggle!!
Did you know you can draw directly onto photo's and it basically dries instantly!! I'm really happy with how it's turned out and will most certainly be doing that again!!

I even asked Esther to draw something and she decided to do Mr Squiggles HAT! CUTE!! I made the Mossy Meadow card stock look like a blackboard and she used the chalk pen to draw with!
The bunting is in the Calypso coral with some red sponged on it finished with a button.
That's about it. So with only 5 more days left of August at least I FINALLY got there!! I should probably start working on my September page now!! hee hee

CASE-ing the Catty challenge #6 - Kids

You know when you see a great sketch or layout of a card or perhaps the colours and you just HAVE to copy.... I mean CASE!!??? Well the challenge for CASE-ing the Catty this week is "kids" and would you believe it but at least half of "us" designers (without knowing) took our inspiration from a wonderful card in the catty on page 86!!! I gotta say it's a pretty super duper card, the one with the Robot and the star burst and those wonderful spots and chevron and star and red and curry and crumb cake..... WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE ABOUT THAT CARD!!!!
SO here is my take on this much sort after card.......
I just got some new stamp sets, one being A Happy Hooray..... sooo love those feathers!! Then add them to some gold sequins and you have a perfect match!!
So come and join us at CASE-ing the Catty this week, what would be your take on page 86?? Or maybe there's another card you love in the kids section pages 82-93!!! Can't wait to see it!!

CASE-ing the Catty challenge #5 - Baby

It's CASE-ing the catty time with some more creative inspiration to share with you!! This week we are all about BABY! How precious these little bundles are and what a perfect opportunity to make a sweet little baby card! I was needing a little boy card and so with page 78 to draw my CASE-ing from I came up with this......

I really LOVE the Zoo babies stamp set, it's perfect for not only babies but small children and even MEN!! (yep that rhino looks pretty "tough" for a guy card!) Team it up with a bunting (another one of my absolute FAV's!) some little letters (Simply Serif Mini Alphabet) and some pretend, I mean Faux frame and you have a card ready to frame if you so desire!!

I hope that you check out the other fabulous team designers and their handiwork's!! You'll be sure to want to make some cuteness for yourself too!!

Perfectly Rustics #29 - Masculine cards

We have some MALE FUN this time for you at Perfectly Rustics!! We all know that male cards and projects can sometimes be tricky but we want to inspire you to get creative and make something manly!!!

Here is my card, I've made another mustache (the one with the fringe scissors and the label punch) and popped it on top of the yummo Hello Honey DSP stripes from the Lullaby DSP pack!! The greeting is from Sketched birthday (such a versatile set) and as you can see that's about that!!
Here are two other samples of mustache cards, you can see how to make them HERE if you like!
Nice and easy and totally MALE! How about you?? What wonderfulness are you going to come up with to join in on the fun!!?? A early Father's day card perhaps?? Can't wait to see what you do too,

Scrap and Music challenge #33

I've finally had some time to play with a great sketch at Scrap and Music! It's been a while since I have and to make the challenge even more so I wanted to see if I could make a Project Life page within the sketch!! I just got some new DSP, the Park Lane pack and couldn't think of a better way to crack it then with this challenge!

The words of the song aren't really the ones you'd chose for a family shot but I plucked out "everyday" and that was my title.

I love the Day by Day Project life set, there are sooo many choices with it and that's how I got the months and days to continue the theme of "everyday!"
I hope you like my take on the sketch! It sure was fun working within the Project Life pockets!!

I'm super happy with how it turned out! YAY!! See you all again soon,

CASE-ing the Catty challenge #3 - Birthday {cloud cupcake toppers}

Time for some birthday inspiration with this weeks CASE-ing the Catty challenge blog! From pages 42-59 you will find LOADS of wonderful projects to case! I took my inspiration from page 58 with the fun cupcake toppers! I LOVE CUPCAKE TOPPERS!!!! LOOOOOVVVEEE!!!!
They  really are one of my favourite gifts to make and little extras to add to any occasion!! (see other one's I've made HERE and HERE!)

As you can see I've CASED them straight from the catty but then I got to making some of my very own design using the same punch! I don't think I've EVER really used the cupcake builder punch for actual cupcakes BUT I've ALWAYS used it for CLOUDS!!! OHHH how I LOVE CLOUDS!!! So it seemed only right to show off the cupcake punch in it's true form to me and make some fun little CLOUD CUPCAKE TOPPERS!!
When making cupcake toppers it's best to go with either 6 or twelve

Combine them with the Starburst framelits and I think you have a perfect match!! After all they are both from the sky! hee he!! :) (colours I've used are Whisper white, Smokey slate and Pool party with some yummy crushed curry twine!!)

I hope you can play along with us this week at CASE-ing the Catty, be super great to see what wonderful things you come up with!!
