Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge #315 - Sunshine Sayings stamp set

I can't believe that I've finally got around to joining in on the Just Add Ink fun!! WHoo HOO!! It's only taken ALL YEAR but here it is, my first entry for the year with the wonderful, talented ladies at JAI!!
I have some new goodies I was hanging to ink up and play with and a card that needed to be made for a lovely lady here in the Village! You could call her the Mother of Poatina, she is sooo special! So for a special lady there needed to be a special card! I used washi tape for the framelit greeting, the new copper twine for some delicate detail, faux suede delightful Dijon cardstock, a panel of shimmer white cardstock which I watercoloured with the Dijon then stamped the watercolour image (also from the Sunshine sayings set) in Cherry cobbler! Oh and my fav at the moment, the Gold glitter pen on the flower to highlight some "petals!!"
Hey I even stamped the inside too, added another framelit, this time the flower with the same copper washi tape and followed the greeting from "Love and Hugs... on one more year! Happy Birthday!" Wow this set has some super great sayings!!
The sketch was fun to work with, I've flipped it on the side and will certainly do this layout again!!
YAY, so there you have it! Thanks heaps for popping by and checking out my take on the challenge! Hopefully it won't be sooo long before I join in with the JAI gang again!

Happy Easter - Easter Lamb

Here is the card design I made for my Easter cards this year! So simple and cute with a chick (FREE stamp set with Sale-a-bration at the moment!!) and lamb!

I love the touch of burlap ribbon and the sparkle on the lamb with the glitter brush! Even the children made a few of these and some tags to match too!
Happy Easter to you all,

Story book friends card - Cats

Hey there everyone..... WOW long time no write!! Hope you are all well and have been enjoying this wonderful Autumn weather! We have been very busy as a family and I've been busy with stamping too..... (so want to show you all.... one day!)
Just recently in fact we had a loss in our family, a fluffy member, our dear Thea cat. (Find out more about the whole story HERE at my family blog)

It was all very hard for the girls and I (especially) and we ended up going to the RSPCA soon after and brought home not 1 but 2 sweet little kittens!!!!(brother and sister) OH MY oh My!! They are sooooooooo adorable, we love them dearly and continuing say how sweet, cute, fun and wonderful they are! Just Perfect for our family!

With the loss of Thea our dear Vet was TOTALLY AMAZING and I wanted to send her a card. I also wanted to send the ladies at the RSPCA a card for the awesome way they helped us with our new fluffy family members. Here they are....
"T t" is for Thea. This card was for our Vet

"C c" is for Chokolait and Cobweb
this card was for Robyn and Kate at the RSPCA

To create the two kitten card I just stamped on a window sheet and then flipped it to make it look like two kittens! COOL! Then looking at it carefully I water-coloured under neath directly on the paper to achieve the cat's colours! The fun black and white DSP is from the paper stack still available in the mini - Stacked with Love....but not for long!!! Oh and those little wooden elements are also retiring so make sure you get your stock up NOW before they are gone!
Hope to show you more of my crafting creations soon, there is a lot going on in the Stampin' Up world so stay tuned!

Perfectly Rustics challenge #45 - Remember

WOW, this is huge!! What you might say? Well for this fortnights challenge we are focusing on Remembrance. It's also nearly my last challenge with Perfectly Rustics as I'm stepping down from the AMAZING design team to REMEMBER the other important things I'm needing to put my attention to! Of course I should have had this post up a week ago but I didn't REMEMBER as I was away....
I will however, always REMEMBER the fun I've had over these last 2 years and the creation that has flowed from my desk for each and every challenge!!
I hope that you still REMEMBER to pop on over to Perfectly Rustics and check out what the fabbo team come up with each fortnight and perhaps pop in on me sometimes too just to say HI!
SO for my second last challenge inspiration for you here is my card.....

I wanted to do one of those spotlight cards but couldn't REMEMBER how so with some google searching found the know-how and I must say I'm really happy with the result! Well that's if from me, thanks heaps for your support, it's been really fun!

Perfectly Rustics challenge #8 - Water colour

Time for another challenge and this time is all about water colouring! So get out your blender pens or aqua painters and show us what you can do! Here is my take on the challenge.........

I wanted to create a groovy background like that in the Catty (page 79 for those of you playing at home!) I made this card for a dear friend who recently moved to the mainland, she is a mighty faithful woman and I'm very blessed to call her friend!

I'm having lots of fun playing with the Apothecary accents too at the moment, they seem to be popping up in all my creations lately! Be sure to check out the other fabbo projects at Perfectly Rustics and join in!

JAI - just add colour #180 Pleasant Poppies

Yay we are in Spring!!!! And with the wonder of the season and all the colour that's about the fabbo ladies at JAI have put together a cool challenge - Just Add colour!!!
I was keen to play especially with my Mum's birthday on the weekend, a card was most certainly in need!
My Mum LOVES blue so I got my Pleasant poppies inked up and started to colour, I even pulled out my new colour coach to see what other colours worked well with Island indigo and Pool party. Turns out Wild wasabi is a perfect combo!!

I really like the greetings in the Sketched birthday set, I think it's cause they are little banners, which suits me just fine! A bow and a little extra on the INSIDE!!!

Kim always does the most amazing things on the inside of her cards so today I thought I'd give that a whirl too! WOW what a difference it makes, I can't believe I've NEVER done it before!! Might be a new thing.......

So that's my take on the challenge! Do make sure you pop on over and see the other wonderful projects from the JAI ladies! Thanks for saying hello!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #65

HELLO! HELLO!!!
WOW I'm sooo excited that I've been back on the challenge wagon again!!! To have the time to play has been super wonderful and I'm really enjoying the "stretching" of my crafting ability.
This week I needed a card for my best friends daughter for her sweet 5th birthday! I had the layout already done but then scratched it when I saw this great sketch HERE and decided to make another!! (anyone else do that??)

On looking at the FABULOUS design teams creations I came across this groovy new technique that I hadn't seen..... Water-colour wash. Go HERE to Artistic Avenger (one of the coolest blogs I've seen, LOVE IT!!!) and see where I got the inspiration from and step by step instructions on How to!

I'm going to give this tech another go, I really love how different it is and the effect you can get!!
I wanted to add a little sparkle so Dazzling diamonds certainly fits for the candle flame. Other than that some spritzing and sewing and roughing and the card is ready!

I hope Rose likes it!!! More importantly I hope Heather does! The pressure to make amazing cards for your fabbo friends/customers is overwhelming sometimes!!! I'm often told that people struggle to make me a card due to the PRESSURE but it sure goes both ways when the shoe is on the other foot and I need to come up with some MASTER PIECE!!! Funny how we work isn't it!!??
Well enjoy your Sunday my fellow crafting friends,

I have been blessed with the most amazing and wonderful friends! Just today I got to chat to one on the phone and also with another email back and forth about convention and the like. In all of this I'm very aware at just how rich I am in friendships!! Thank you lovely ladies, those of you who touch my life in one way or another, I'm very grateful for you and sooo appreciate you in my life!

card designed by Kerrie, made by me at her workshop

(note: just pretend the greeting says thinking of you, not Happy birthday!! he he!)

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #63

I hope you're sitting down!!!! Can you believe it, another post in the ONE DAY!!!! Miracles do happen!! The children are happily playing before we start schooling and I don't have anything "extra" to do right now, so let's chat for awhile!! :)
This card is for the lovely team over at Inkspirations and for this week it's a sketch

For some reason I saw 4 windows not 3! Must be that tired brain I'm constantly dealing with at the moment!! Opps, hopefully the team will still like it! Sophia and Hannah were invited to a
"Tea party" party on Sunday and when I have a theme to work with it makes it all the easier to make a pretty card! Hope you like it and thanks for visiting!

Better late then never.....

Do you remember what I said last post?? Something along the lines of...
"I've done lots of challenges this weekend and I look forward to showing you them!" I'm finding out that it's all well and good to do the challenges but to then actually get them posted is a whole 'nother story!!!
So here is one of those cards from last weeks JAI challenge....

I really love these colours together, they work sooo pretty!!! This set I haven't inked up much so I made it my extra challenge to make sure it got some love and enjoyed water-colouring the sweet, little tea-cups.
Check out my other card that I made for the latest Inkspirations challenge (yes and it's current!!! YAY! YAY! YAY!) While I was on a roll with this set I inked it up again!

Just Add Ink Challenge #38

There was no way that I wanted to miss out on this cute, fun and very worthwhile JAI challenge! Breast cancer is a serious deal and the more awareness we have about these horrible diseases the better this world will be!! Check out this site HERE for more info on fantastic event ideas or do your own special thing with some wonderful girlfriends!!
So with all that the theme was to make a card etc with PINK and BLING!!! Just saying that brings a smile to my face!!
Well I went "OFF", and did the whole MORE IS MORE (yes the saying is actually Less in MORE! he he) and glittered and pinked and sparkled and pinked some more to make this card for my little friend who is turning 4 on Friday!!! (sorry Carli that you see it first here, but it's way more sparkly and fun in person!!)

Here's a close up of the wing detail! I love new glitter and Window sheets we (stampin' Up! now carry, sooo much fun!!)

What do you think??? Could I have added anything else?!? he he only joking!!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #19

I'm so excited that I've had time to make a card all before my precious treasures wake up! Of course I guess that's not hard to do when you've been out of bed since 6.25 but still little Sophia sometimes wakes early, finds me in the office and loves joining with me in making a card! This morn it was just me, me with the sunrise and the crispness of the new day.

I saw Makeesha's latest challenge last night (see above) and knew that's what I wanted to do today! I love Chocolate chip and Taken with teal together.

I've been playing lots with the wonderful new Sale-A-Bration sets (only available till the end of the month, click here to see catty) and water-colouring the pretty flowers from the Happy Moments set seemed to be a relaxing and quite! (Certainly no punching with kiddies asleep!! he he!) Some ribbon (a must in most cards I make) polka dot DSP and it was finished! Just in time to the sound of little feet walking down the hall :0)
Hope your start to the weekend is a great one! Come back again soon as I'm hoping to also join in the Embellish challenge, it's using material.... umm might be cutting some old clothes up for that one....
Smiles SHArnee :0)
