Sprinkles of Life for children's birthdays!

My nephew turned 3 the other day and I wanted to send him a smile in the mail and thought that the cupcake stamp featured in the amazing Sprinkles of Life set would be just the thing! Add 3 "ready to blow candles" on top of the yummy chocolate icing and you have the perfect little boy card! I'm loving this layout at the moment, so easy and yet so nice. It's amazing how much you can change the look of a card by using different ribbon, or in this case twine! (you may notice I've got "square" looking tape in the corners of my vellum!! GRRR I've been using FAR TOO many mini glue dots and had run out!! Don't worry I've ordered more! SMILE!)
Well that's the last of my run on Sprinkles of Life cupcake cards, I've now been playing HEAPS with some Sale-a-Bration goodies..... Make sure you don't miss out on those with the end of March just around the corner!!

Sprinkles of Life for 40th birthdays!

Did you know that I've been celebrating 40th birthdays lately!?? Turns out that mine is just around the corner (May 25th to be exact!!) and so many of the cards I've been making have had the BIG 40 stamped on them. I always like to work with a theme and so the first thing that comes to mind is to make a card using the recipients fav colour!! Here are two 40th birthday cards I've made with the same layout and look but in different colours using the very versatile Sprinkles of Life stamp set.

Loving the new glitter brush featured in the Occasional catty page 24!

The cupcakes are sooo easy to watercolour,
especially if you stamp the image on the White Shimmer paper.
Then you MUST add some pink sprinkles to finish it off!

I've used some toothpicks for the toppers and added some fun numbers from a retired Project Life kit (which can be purchased in the clearance rack right now!!) I like the look of the vellum in the background which is easily stuck on with some mini glue dots!! Adding a touch of ribbon and the greeting from the set and you have a fun, cute cupcake card ready!!

Sprinkles of Life Stamp set

One of the benefits of being a SU lady is the amazing conventions that you can attend! This year it was in sunny QLD and I was able to go along in ..... MY pajamas!!!!
How? You Ask?
Well the wonderful people at SU did the general sessions as a stream (just a couple of hours after) so the children and I sat in the lounge room, happily watching the ladies on stage at CONVENTION!!! It was very cool indeed, we all got a giggle out of it, sitting there in our pj's, watching, learning and being "wowed" by the great samples.

One of the sets shown was the new Sprinkles of Life. Sarah (Shellie's daughter) demonstrated this one and the AMAZING things you can do with the set. I fell in love with it (especially the fact that it has a cloud and a tree in it, with a matching punch too!!! YAY!!) and had to CASE her card designs.

The raindrops look so fun by using different coloured papers
and then adding a hint of silver to compliment the sentiment on the card.
The cloud is done with silver embosing powder!

I used the dainty little flower stamp to create a background and embossed the main flower image, then coloured it in, adding pearls for some bling!
The basket handle look is created by using the candle stamps....SO COOL!

Fun shaker card with the apples going into the basket!! SOooo clever!
Note you can make a bigger tree with the set too,
OHHH the possibilities!!!

Tree image can also be used as a branch
and the foliage as a nest for the sweet little bird

Sarah showed that making the ice-cream water colour
gives it a vintage feel, just like a colouring book.
Then if you stamp on tissue paper you can make a waffle cone look!

Like I said, her cards were WONDERFUL and were most certainly screaming to be cased!!
What are your fav sets in the new catty?? Love to hear from you,
