Sheltering Tree - Winter theme {card 2}

With the snow falling I've been creating some fun Winter themed cards for my classes! I recently showed you THIS card, and THIS so now here is my last one. I found inspiration for this one HERE to create the wonderful emboss resist background.

How fabulous is that sparkle?? Iridescent Ice embossing powder!! A MUST in your stamping goodies! I embossed the tree in Early espresso, then the ground, foliage and snowflakes were all down in the glitter powder. Another lovely greeting in the set "Thankful for you" with just the "for you" being used, same background folder as before and there you have it!
Which one is your fav??
Can't wait to show you more of what my crafting desk has been involved with lately.... hopefully that will be soon!

Sheltering Tree - Winter scene {card 1)

What a totally WONDERFUL WINTER I am having this year!! Have you seen the snow?? Falling in places that haven't seen it fall there in over 10 years..... the term "Winter Wonderland" has been used often in recent weeks and my family and I have seen it first hand! I LOVE THE SNOW!!
SO with such inspiration I was keen to make some snowy themed cards, which I then shared with my stamp club! The ladies LOVED these cards and had a super fun time creating their own snow filled trees. Here is the first one I demonstrated...

I love the softness of the dazzling diamonds sitting on the branches of the tree, the sponged blue ink in the background and lightly stamped snowflakes falling to the ground!

The wood grain embossing background fits perfectly with this set and with a greeting of you warm my heart the card was complete!
I'll come back again soon to show you the other card my ladies and I made, it's a WOW one for sure!

Perfectly Rustics - #52 Anything goes with Glitter! (Sheltering Tree)

It's the last challenge at Perfectly Rustics (FOREVER!!!) and with Glitter as the theme, and their final goodbye I HAD to join in!!
I recently made a Winter card for my niece who lives in WA and is desperate to see the snow here in Tassie! So with a warm fuzzies package sent her way, this was the card I made for her.

I'm LOVING Dazzling diamonds on cards, just the perfect amount of sparkle, especially for a Winter scene! Just add some 2-way glue and then sprinkle on. This is the book that I made as her Snow Gift.
some sequins also make wonderful snow flakes, complemented with blue, silver and white embellishments!

Just want to say HOW FABULOUS Perfectly Rustics has been over the last few years, filled with fun challenges and super inspiration! All the best to you dear Design team!!

Sprinkles of Life Stamp set

One of the benefits of being a SU lady is the amazing conventions that you can attend! This year it was in sunny QLD and I was able to go along in ..... MY pajamas!!!!
How? You Ask?
Well the wonderful people at SU did the general sessions as a stream (just a couple of hours after) so the children and I sat in the lounge room, happily watching the ladies on stage at CONVENTION!!! It was very cool indeed, we all got a giggle out of it, sitting there in our pj's, watching, learning and being "wowed" by the great samples.

One of the sets shown was the new Sprinkles of Life. Sarah (Shellie's daughter) demonstrated this one and the AMAZING things you can do with the set. I fell in love with it (especially the fact that it has a cloud and a tree in it, with a matching punch too!!! YAY!!) and had to CASE her card designs.

The raindrops look so fun by using different coloured papers
and then adding a hint of silver to compliment the sentiment on the card.
The cloud is done with silver embosing powder!

I used the dainty little flower stamp to create a background and embossed the main flower image, then coloured it in, adding pearls for some bling!
The basket handle look is created by using the candle stamps....SO COOL!

Fun shaker card with the apples going into the basket!! SOooo clever!
Note you can make a bigger tree with the set too,
OHHH the possibilities!!!

Tree image can also be used as a branch
and the foliage as a nest for the sweet little bird

Sarah showed that making the ice-cream water colour
gives it a vintage feel, just like a colouring book.
Then if you stamp on tissue paper you can make a waffle cone look!

Like I said, her cards were WONDERFUL and were most certainly screaming to be cased!!
What are your fav sets in the new catty?? Love to hear from you,

Perpetual Birthday Calendar Project Kit - Cards

Have you seen the wonderful Calendar Kit?? It was actually in the last mini and made it over to the MAIN CATTY!!! YAY!
I held a calendar class with my stamp club so we could ALL make one, it was a really fun time with lots of ideas of how to decorate and the occasional mistake when not realizing that each printed page has the EXACT days for each month!! What does that mean?? Well I happily stamped and demonstrated "February" on a 31 day page, and June on the 28th page!! Be sure to check your pages before stamping!!

There are HEAPS of wonderful bits of stamping candy left over in the kit which can be easily used to make cards...... I've just come up with 2, but there is OODLES more that you could do!

What have you done with your left over bits??? Love to have you share your ideas,

Snow Scrap-book page - Chalkboard Technique

We are certainly in the middle of Winter here in Tassie!! Not so long ago I took the children to the snow... it was the most wonderful time! Sapphire especially enjoyed it! She experienced her first "taste" of snow!

I went with the chalkboard technique for this page using the Everything Eleanor stamp set. The images in this set are PERFECT for a snowy layout.

Hopefully we will be off to the snow again, it's such a wonderful way to spend a Winter's day!
