A special Gift

Another busy week has come and gone (now I have a relaxing weekend ahead of me, and a long one at that!!) During the week I was able to give a handmade gift to the wonderful and super Special Leanne!! She's the sweetest lady who has been coming to our house every Wednesday to teach me how to knit!! I've loved EVERY minute and really wanted to give her something extra when it was her birthday (just this wed gone!) So this is what I made....
I attended a training in Hobart the other week and we were shown a sweet little tag box with butterflies in it (it's pictured in the USA catty a few times) Anyway I totally LOVED it and quickly jotted down the layout of how to make it, though this did NOT include any measurements or ANYTHING!!!
I was soooooo excited when I was able to work out the details for myself!! YAY!! (this coming from a visual girl, who really prefers to be shown how to make things, only have Picture recipe books cause I want to know what the finished product will look like he he!!)
Of course it had to have Leanne's favourite colour... Purple and Chocolate goes sooo great with that so I was off to work designing the little tags! I made an assortment for different occasions, whether birthday, or thank you and popped them all in their separate compartments and then in the fourth spot put extra ribbon to make up the tags (i just included a sample and left the rest to be done by Leanne!) What do you think??I am totally going to make some more, they're just soooo pretty and a wonderful gift to give!! Perhaps I can show you some step by step instructions - would you like that??
Well best get to the shower and start my day!! Thanks for popping over!

Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge #14

It's been really nice to have some time to join in the wonderful colour challenges at the moment! There is still Dawn's that I'd like to do but her colours are stumping me at the moment!! But here is Makeesha's inspiration challenge #14 and I needed a Male birthday card so I thought I'd enter!! It 's very VERY simple which I'm struggling with a tad!! I really want to put a button or some ribbon on but as you can see I took all my inspiration from the doona cover itself and that doesn't have button's or ribbons, it's just all lines (can't change the rules.. HE HE!!) It's for a teenager so the less is more thing works for him! Well here it is (my plain and somewhat boring card...)
Oh I should really be more positive about it shouldn't I??
Thanks for popping by, catch you soon!

Scrapbooking fun

I've been getting together with the lovely Teresa and Jan to do some scrap booking!! It's been so much fun, and we all love to see how each other's pages turn out. We are all doing a new calendar for next year so time is ticking to get it done!!! Last night we enjoyed each other's company over a champagne, Turkish delight and for me a yummy cup-of-tea!!
This is the page that I did, though I had hoped to get 3 pages done, these things do seem to take much more time than whipping up a card!! So there's always next time :0)
As I'm such a chronological girl I decided that I would do a calendar of our children when they were babies and other fun "long ago" moments rather than going with the present. I will be doing a neutral gender page too, ready to go for our new little one, so everyone will be included!! YAY! The order girl inside of me is absolutely fine with that!! :0)

p.s If anyone has any ideas of how to take the best pictures of your scrap booking pages I'd love to hear them!! I find them tricky.

sweet sunday sketch challenge #40

YAY!! Two days in a ROW!! BIG SMILE!! It feels so good doesn't it when you happily tick your to do list and then still have time to play! Love that :0)
So last night I had time to make a card for the wonderful Karen's sweet Sunday sketch challenge
It was soooo nice to do another challenge, it's felt like ages!!So with Christmas fast approaching it only seemed right to make a Christmas card!! I'm loving the flexibility of different colours for Christmas this year (I've always been a traditionalist!!) so I thought I'd go with the blue and cocoa again!!
What do you think??
I will be having some more play time hopefully with this set and my new fav Winter Post!! Have a super day, sunny and blessed!!

Christmas Card ideas

WOW I can't believe it's been 11 days since I last posted you something!! Time passes by quickly and I've made other things a priority lately, still I know the feeling of visiting one of your favourite blogs and there's no update, it's somewhat annoying!! Sorry to be one of those lately!!
But I'm here to show you my Christmas cards that I'm demonstrating next Thursday, feel free to book a place if you live in the area!!
I've been really inspired by the holiday section in the Stampin. Up! Catty and so wanted to go with those colours for my two card designs!!
Here is the first oneIt's supposed to look like a present ready to open, do you think I achieved that??
Then next is this oneI love the simplicity of this card, and the colours are so wonderful together!! It doesn't even say Merry Christmas or anything but sometimes it's nice to give a card that isn't screaming the obvious but quitely says Tis' the season!! What do you think?? Do you like to make your greetings loud and clear or have some sort of wonder behind your card?? I'd love to hear what you prefer!!
Well I'm off, tomorrow I'll be attending a Stampin. Up! regional training in Hobart with my lovely friend Heather!! I'm soooo looking forward to the 2 hour drive, there and back and ALL the chatting we will do without one single Child interruption!! Ohhh the joys!! Of course the stamping will be super awesome too, what a great night out!!!

Hello lovely ones, how are you?? I'm having a super week with my beautiful friend Carli and her three precious ones, as they stay at our house for the week! It's been lots of fun with Allan's birthday yesterday and the business of what 6 children bring!! I love it! :0)
Talking about Children I have a Baby stamp-a-stack on Monday night (12th Oct) and I thought I'd show you the cards that we will be making!! I originally wanted to do this night to help me with baby announcement cards that I will soon be needing and so have designed a girl card and a boy card! We have left it a surprise this time so who knows which one I will need!!
Here is the girl card...
And here is the boy card...Each of them have used different stamps out of Nursery Necessitates set which is one of my favourites for baby cards! And the cute little guy is of course from All in the Family, I LOVE Rosy cheeks!!
Hope that you are enjoying making some stamping projects too, I look forward to joining in the challenges again next week, until then have a great weekend!!
