Perfectly Rustics Challenge #17 - Just one colour

We are here again for another wonderful challenge over at Perfectly Rustics! This time you can only use ONE colour!! Yep just one, of course you may put a neutral in there, maybe white, vanilla or grey like what I did! Here is my inspiration page to get your creative juices flowing.....

It certainly is a challenge to work with only one colour, perhaps you could try your favourite colour and give it a go!! Love to see what you come up with!!

Just Add ink #203 add a sketch

There was great need for a special card on Monday for a very lovely friend and as I've said before (and will most likely say again) when needing some inspiration turn to a challenge! JAI had a wonderful sketch to play with so I was off!

I decided to make it a pop-up card to and with a real feminine touch stamped some blue flowers from the Field flowers set. I also used the Sale-a-bration DSP and added some glitter in the middle of the flowers.
I flipped the sketch on it's side and with some other small embellishments my card was complete! YAY!!!

I hope you get to check out the other great ideas this week over at JAI, they always have some great things going on!

Scrap and Music #21- Dancing Queen

I have the best time putting together pages with the Scrap and Music challenges!! I just LOVE THEM!! Such a fabbo way to have a title by the words of the song! It's awesome and when you have a FAV pic to work with it all comes together!!
My beautiful Sophia is such a fun little girl and this summer she (and her brother and sisters) have had a wonderful time playing on our skip n' slide. She totally posed for me this day and it's by far one of my fav pictures of the holidays!!
Here is the sketch and my take on the challenge....
Now for some close ups of my best bits of the page...
I watercoloured this butterfly just really roughly,
no need for perfection with this great tech!
The title I stamped with the Simply Serif Alphabet,
then those cute embellishments are from the new mini, they are framelits called On film.
These arrows are from the same bundle set Peachy Keen, with the gold sequin trim (LOVE!!)
those gold hearts in the background are the new printed vellum (LOVE that too!!)
My journalling spot!! Groovy rotary stamp!!
One last close up of the whole page!!
Thanks heaps for popping by and checking my page out, I really am very, VERY happy with this and can't wait to see it on my March calender for Sophia's birthday month!! YAY!

Just Add Ink #202 Just add stripes

I find that the best thing to do when needing a card is to be inspired from the wonderful world of blogs and check out a challenge...... One of my FAV places to go is always JAI!!
This week the challenge is to add stripes so with some of my sisters fav colours, a theme and the new mini in front of me for extra help I was ready to create!!!
I love all the ideas in the mini this season, Stampin' Up! really do such an amazing job with their inspiration pictures. For those of you playing at home I've cased this card from page 7, the one in the middle. I've flipped mine around and used a different stamp, made it Sharnee's card instead of a complete copy!!
Needless to say Sarah (my sister) totally LOVED it, and i must say I liked it sooo much too that I'll be demonstrating it as my Paper Dolls stamp club card this month!! YAY love it when things work out sooo wonderfully!!!
Hope you get to check out the rest of the design team, my lovely friend Kim even entered this challenge with a Valentine's card for her super man!! There sure is a lot you can do with STRIPES!!!

Perfectly Rustics Challenge #16 - A sketch

Hello, hello there lovely people!!! How are you all?? How is the back to school "feelings" going and your holiday and... well, it's nice to be here!
I'm super excited to show off my inspiration page today for this fortnights Perfectly Rustics challenge!! During the holidays my sister, her sweet boy and my treasures and I all went to the Strawberry farm..... YUMMMMMM!! It was soooooo delicious, honestly I can't even count how many mouth watering strawb's that were eaten that day (and the days after) it was such a wonderful time spent together. SO with Jayne's great sketch to play along with this time I got the photo's printed and started crafting!!! YAY!!

There are a few sets that I have in my collection that are not current (i know, me keeping retired sets!! It does happen.....there are only a few!!) This strawberry is from one of them! Oh how I love that strawberry stamp!!! Then the extra little "words" are another retired item being rub-on's. The DSP is the current Quatrefancy Specialty and the strawberry "splatters" are done using a stamp from the fabbo Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.... Gotta have that set in your collection!!
The little word bubble is from the brand new mini, I actuallly traced it out of the catty
(as I don't have it...YET!) with Vellum and then cut it out!! Easy!

I hope this inspires you to play along to in the challenge this time, you don't have to do a scrapbook page, this sketch could also be used on a card, so get crafting and show us what you do!!
Smiles Sharnee
