Sweet Sunday Sketch #247 - Little Red Riding Hood punch art card.

Hello there dear people!! How are you? How was your Christmas?? What plans do you have for new years?? What a wonderful time of the year it is, so relaxed and casual, so fun and enjoyable!

Well before the year is out I wanted to show you the card I made for sweet little Esther's 5th birthday (earlier in the month) She had a Little Red Ridding Hood theme and so with that as my inspiration and a fantastic sketch (which I flipped on the side...) from The Sweetest thing blog, Sweet Sunday sketches I came up with this....

I love how it turned out, complete with 5 little flowers picked in Red Riding Hood's basket!

Fa la la la gift tag (Kikki.K inspired)

With many a gift to wrap and do up all pretty for the season you must have the perfect tag! While looking through one of my fav Christmas mag's (inside out) I noticed a very groovy tag from the wonderful Kikki.K!! WOW it totally POPPED from the page and I knew that I HAD TO case them!!

I used an old alphabet set that I love and embossed the words Fa la la in gold. The tag itself is made from the Scallop Tag topper cut at 2" wide by 10 cm long. I LOVE the gold sequin trim and the shiny gold ribbon together for that bling touch!! I've mixed these tags up with a feather one I've designed (post to come) for an elegant look to our gifts this year! Oh and I've also done up a pack of these little goodies for a gift!!

What do you think? Liking the black and gold look?? It's definitely a first for me (I'm such a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas colours) and I'm LOVING IT!!!
Happy gift wrapping,

Perfectly Rustics challenge #38 - Trees

I LOVE TREES!!!! Trees really are one of my absolute favourite things in the world so with Perfectly Rustics challenge this time being Trees I'm super duper happy!!!!
I've made my own tree for some inspiration for you! You can easily do this too, just draw it onto the selected card stock and cut out! Add some greenery and you have your very own tree!!

I also went a little further and popped it through the woodgrain embossing folder then sponged a little colour to give the trunk depth. Of course if there is a tree then some woodland creatures are in need.... Forest friends works a treat!

This scrap book page is actually a picture of me!! Yep, little me only 3 years old snuggled deep into my covers with all my toys ready to dream! The toy in my bed with me is the one and only Big Dog!! He was my absolute fav, (still is actually) and I have him even today!! Oh how I love my Big Dog!!
Oh and how cool is that 70's wall paper, so groovy man!!

It's been fun sharing my Tree challenge with you, I hope it inspires you to join in with us, until next time...

I thought that the shiny stars in the background would be a nice touch and I loved the placement of the greeting on the sketch! I'd have to say it's a pretty cool card (if I do say so myself!) I'm keen to know what the birthday boy thinks when he gets it..... once across the straight... let's hope the force is with me!! hee he,

Feathers and a scrapbook page for Once Upon A Sketch

I don't know what I would do without sketches, WOW they totally save the day on ANY project! So while looking around the blogging world I saw this wonderful sketch from the ladies at Once Upon a Sketch and  knew I had to join in!!
I was needing a page for my November calendar and this was perfect for my photo of our treasures while at the Gorge back in Aug.

I don't think I've ever seen the pool at the Basin empty so this was a fun time for all. Can you see just how different each one of my darlings are "acting?" I say acting but they were just being themselves. Hannah and Sophia where pretending to have a sword fight with some drift wood, Esther was just dancing around, Sapphire walking the width of the pool and Zeke, well he was just enjoying the sunshine!!
While making this page Sophia wanted to do some scrapping too so she joined in on the sketch and came up with this page of our sweet fluffy member of the family!

We both LOVED working with this sketch, I think it will be one I'll go back to again!
Thanks heaps for popping by and seeing our take on the challenge!
