Just Add Ink Challenge #5

Here we are getting of the card and into some "DIMENSION!"
WOW!! You so need to check out the entries at Just Add Ink, they're BRILLIANT to say the least!! SO here's my take on the challenge this week!

I wanted to make some party decorations for my lovely, special sister Sarah who's birthday it was last week. I saw in the Inside Out Magazine last year for Christmas these gorgeous circle decorations in soft blues and whites, all strung together with the good old sewing machine! Ummmmm I thought to myself, I could try that..... and so I did!

It's super DUPER easy and (if I do say so myself) they've come up a treat!! Just punch out random circles of your colour of choice and then stamp on some vanilla the wonderful Life definitions set and punch them out too! Fire up your sewing machine and get sewing! Make sure you have some tension as each circle goes through and finish at your desired length!
Hope your week is going fabulously!!
Smiles Sharnee :0)

( I tried to take a photo of them hanging down from the ceiling but I just
couldn't get the right angle!!)

Embellish Birthdays Color Challenge Card #2

Here is my last of the 4 birthday cards I whipped up on the weekend! Again with the fab colours of the Embellish birthday Colour challenge.
This one is for my wonderful little friend William who is turning 5 next week! I also needed to get this one in the post quick smart, as he lives in Nowra with his special family which includes my amazingly beautiful friend Carli! (his mum -Hello to you fabulous Green family, sending HUGE hugs to you all!) Now I'd seen this idea ages ago on Dawn's blog - My Favourite things and wanted to show you the exact card I took my inspiration from but I couldn't find it....but that's where I first saw this. I love the way Dawn uses button's for sooo many of her projects and when I was thinking what set I could use the "good Neighbours" popped into my head.... it has clouds and those roof's upside down could make great baskets! YAY!! :0)So all I did was marker the roof that looked most basket like and stamped them on the card! Added the Button Hot air balloons and then drew in the strings. Stamp some clouds floating by and there you have it.....
I was soooo happy with how this turned out, I even gave my handwriting another go after all the lovely comments last time and did a personal greeting! YAY!!

So there you have it, 4 cards in one wonderful Sunday afternoon of stamping! BLISS!

Embellish Birthdays Color Challenge

So here is card #3 with the inspiration from the colour swatches of Embellish Magazine's Birthday Colour challenge
Here is the great "get those creative juices flowing" picture
Ooooo how I'd love to have that gorgeous bunch of Tulips on my dinning table.
It's my first niece (on my side) 1st Birthday next week, Sam, Clare and baby Aaliyah (as Sophia likes to say) live in Busseltown, WA (hello to all in WA!!) and so I needed to get that pressie in the mail fast, or in other words NOW!
I was feeding Esther and she had on this "cute as" little suit that Samantha gave me when she was born (HI SAM!) and on it is a little Pretty in Pink owl that you can put in the pocket! CUTE!

That's where I got the idea for the Owl 1st birthday card, what do you think, does it work???
I like it's funkiness, well you know it's LOUD with colour and differnet shapes, all the things a ONE year old is like too... I guess!?! Would you agree???
I did write "today" on the number 1 so it rhymed - Hoot, Hoot Hooray, 1 today!

So that's 3 down, one to go, it's a boy card with a difference, just wait and see.....

Just Add Ink Challenge #4

How fab are these colours for the latest Just Add Ink challenge!! I love MORE MUSTARD (even have a couple of tops in this great colour!!) and with Kraft, well this card was bound to be great!!
As mentioned before I needed 4 birthday cards this week so this one is for my lovely sister Sarah! (Huge Waves!!)
I knew I wanted a vintage looking card so went with the bird cage from Happy Moments, the linen thread is used to give it the appearance that it's actually hanging of the mustard wall! What's your favourite Sale-a-bration set??
There's still more cards to show you, the next two are children's cards for the Embellish mag challenge until then....

Inkspriations Colour Challenge #18

I've had the best weekend just relaxing and spending time with my family and even STAMPING!! I needed to make 4, YES FOUR!! Birthday cards ready for this week and so with that in mind I jumped on my computer for some inspiration for colours, layouts and the like!
My first port of call was the lovely Keesh for her latest Inkspirations Colour Challenge.

I have to say that when I pulled out the card stock ready to create I was a little....ummm how can I say it.... taken a back... at the way they looked together, I really wasn't impressed and wondered how on earth I was going to pull them off!!! Thankfully as I began it all came together and my mind was changed to "YAY these can really work!!"
I've wanted to play more with my new Sale-A-Bration sets, how cute is that cake!! I love the Frames with a flourish too so with keeping it simple this is how it turned out!

The cake is coloured with blender pens and then I added some extra detail with the marker directly.
Watch out for my 2nd card which I'll post tomorrow

School's on

Last night we had our first Mum's Home schooling meeting, planning for the terms activities! Oh it was sooo wonderful to see everyone again and get excited about the year ahead!
It was up to me to contact everyone (only because I asked if we could have it at my house, which was nice and easy) and though I knew it was easier to email all the lovely ladies, I couldn't help myself and decided to make some invitations!!! I had soo much fun choosing what was going to be my "a" letter, "b" letter and so on!
Hope your first week with your kiddies back to school has been a great one as you start your routines again!

Just Add Ink Challenge #3 AND S.A.M Creative Challenge #3

You have to think "time wise" when juggling responsibilities of a new baby, home Schooling, house cleaning and of course joining in on the challenge fun!!! With this in mind I knew that to participate in these two challenges I had to incorporate them together!!!

SO with the sketch layout of the Just add ink challenge and the theme of "Love" from the Stamp a Memory challenge I came up with this.... (not to mention that the S.A.M challenge you have the chance to win the heart punch! I want to be in that!! YAY!)

Every time I look at this photo it makes my heart so full of warm fuzzies and overwhelming joy! Our dear little "treasures to Love" Hannah, Ezekiel, Sophia and now Esther!
The reason I LOVE challenges soooo much is that it makes me sit down and stamp! In this case I've got my first scrap-book page of Esther done! What a wonderful feeling of accomplishment!! (hence why i did the two challenges cause getting two separate ones done was just NOT going to happen!!)

Here is a close up of the detail on the heart stamp from Always which I markerd and the very faint words "always on my mind, forever in my heart" in the background on the Pink Pirouette. Also the chip board letters I just dabbed on top of the choc chip ink pad to colour.

I'm in awe at just how much our baby girl has grown in the last 9 1/2 weeks, she sure isn't that "new-born" anymore!!

Well thanks for popping by, and do make sure you check out these two fabulous sites, especially Claire Daly's scrap-book pages, they are simply AMAZING!!!! Actaully in saying that so they all are so go there!!

Playing with Flowers

One of my absolute FAVOURITE blogs to go and visit is that of the delightful Tina from TravelingMama. Her wonderful way of writing and stunning pictures keep you always wanting more and sharing the journey with her!! I love everything she makes too and the last thing she did for the recent Embellish Magazine Ribbon challenge was a paper flower!
Tina has now put up a little video demo-ing her flower design!!! Click HERE to view yourself.
I knew I had to give it a try, so while the kiddies were watching TV this morn I did exactly that!
What do you think???
The other really lovely idea I've seen again recently was that of using your own "hand-writing" Over at Janeybel, Sarah-Jane has made some cards and added a touch of uniqueness with her own "stamp" if you like!! I wasn't sure if my writing was up to scratch but I'm actually really happy with how it looks!! I would never have thought that my writing could look ok, like that of the wonderful Dawn who was the one that originally inspired us all!!
Give it a try yourself and let me know, I'd love to check it out!!
Happy arvo,

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #54

It's been awhile since I played along with the lovely Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch but here I am. My card is for Tim, my brother in law who is getting Baptized this weekend! SO excited for him, what a wonderful step in His Faith!!
I wanted to stamp a verse, it's something I've seen the wonderful Amanda do (huge waves to YOU!) on many a project and I've always wanted to see what it's like to individually stamp EVERY letter to make a sentence, poem or in this case bible verse!
I'm loving the "simplicity" of this card (once you take the individual stamping of EVERY letter out of the picture! he he!) it seems to be a bit of a theme for me at the moment, what will the next card be like I wonder.....

Hope you're completely wonderful, thanks sooo much for popping by,

Just Add Ink Challenge #2

For the latest Just Add Ink challenge all you needed to do is work with hearts! Love is in the air that's for sure with Valentine's day only 12 more sleeps away!
I got this idea from my wonderful friend Heather. We were stamping together a while back and she had the idea of using ribbon for the hearts (seen in the latest Summer mini) and punching the hearts out at the bottom of her card! I liked it sooo much that I wanted to copy and so here is my take on the idea...
I also stamped some white card stock and stamped certain Life Definitions sayings on it then picked out what parts I wanted in some of my punched hearts!! I really like the effect, must try it again on a different shape!!
