My Little carrot munchers!!

We have an adorable bunny that happily lives in our backyard, just hopping around, munching grass here - there - ANYWHERE!! Oh I love him soooooo, His name is Arther, though I like to call him "Arther Bunny" with a kinda funny voice that I put on (yes a little silly but that's how I say it!! he he) He's a Flemish giant and we've had him for at least 8 years and he's just wonderful!! I love bunnies and will ALWAYS have a pet rabbit! The other week the kids all went outside to give Arther some carrot for his afternoon tea, then I realised that THEY were the one's munching on the carrot too!! How precious these moments are...Hope your week has had wonderful moments to Cherish, will hopefully be back soon with some cards, it's Ezekiel's 6th birthday Saturday so I've been a little busy!!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #36

It seems to come around sooo fast... the weeks that is! I'm now enjoying my 30th week of pregnancy and to think that it's all so close now is HUGE!!! I love being pregnant and I'm not really wanting that all to be over but... that's how time goes isn't it?? FAST!!
It's the same for these challenges, Karen from "the Sweetest thing" has her latest sketch challenge up and I needed to make a special Thank you card for Leanne, a wonderful customer of mine who is teaching me knitting!!! I am loving it!! SO much fun!! Anyway she's a BIG fan of purple so that's where I got my inspiration from. This is a layout that I would never think of, but WOW it really works great!!
I water coloured the flowers for the main image and then added Crystal Effects to give them the shine, markers are great too for this one when only wanting certain words and with a bit of bling it was done!! YAY!! :0)
Here is a closer look at the crystal effects! It is a great product to add that little extra to your cards, especially with flowers and fruit!!
I hope you're having a wonderful day and looking forward to the great weekend ahead! Catch up with you soon,

Maggie's Mermaid Card

I've been having LOTS of fun with the All in the Family set lately!! It's quite the fav choice at the moment and I'm loving the ideas that I keep coming up with!!
The latest being this great Stair Step Fold card which is from the amazing web site Splitcoast Stampers!! Click HERE to see the card in it's original form!! I demonstrated this great technique at my last stamp club and have been really enjoying having a difference!!
It was Maggie's birthday on the weekend and she LOVES mermaids so it seemed quite fitting to make her this card...
To make the Mermaids I just stamped the ladies dress with the head and arms then lined the bottom of her dress to dsp and drew a tail shape! Cut it out, stick it on and Presto!! You have a mermaid!! I used watercolour paper and where I added bikini tops I coloured them in first and then added the out line with my Basic black marker, this saved on it smudging when colouring after!! The waves and rocks are hand cut and the ribbon at the back is the LOVELY FREE RIBBON that you can get with a purchase of $100 or more at the moment! It comes with Certainly celery wide ribbon and is a must for ANY SPRING PROJECT!!! Contact me if you'd like to know more or place an order.
Great chatting to you, hope you're super duper!!

Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge #12

The very talented Makeesha Byl has put up her latest challenge! Oh how fun and bright are these colours!!!!
I went with Pacific Point, Baja Breeze and Summer Sun to co-ordinate and I really wanted to show a scrap-book page as I've been doing a lot (well a lot for me) of it lately and wanted to do some more!! Any excuse really but a good one I thought.
These pictures were taken when I went to convention in May in Canberra, my wonderful friend Carli lives in Nowra and this is her precious kiddies with my precious treasures! Even since May they have all grown soooo much, it makes me realise just how important scrapping our memories are! All before we know it they've grown up, lost their first tooth or well, changed in some special way!!
Hope your week is sunny and "springy" and simply wonderful,
Smiles Sharnee :0)

Alisa's Colour Challenge

I was looking around my favourite blog sites last night and came across a colour challenge from Alisa Tilsner. She's a fellow Australian demonstrator and a great one at that, receiving lots of different awards and acknowledgements at convention! I think she is best known for her water colouring, amazing stuff, do check her out, just click on her name!
So I decided to join in and make a card using these gorgeous colours... Sage Shadow, Always Artichoke, Chocolate chip and Sahara Sand. I do really enjoy making cards with the Rose is a Rose set, and who would have thought that Chocolate roses could look soooo great!! I'm such a vintage girl at heart, I love old houses, old furniture and the amazing clothes of the good old "olden days" so that's where the inspiration began.
I really think that I'll use these colours again sometime, I really like how much they complement each other!!
Have a Sunny Sunday!!

More Pop-Up Fun

I've been having soooo much Fun with making Pop-Up cards lately that I wanted to show you all some of the creations that I've been coming up with!

This first one was for Xavier, our wonderful little Friend who just celebrated his 6th Birthday, the cute little figures are Him (at the back) and my 3 kiddies bringing him gifts! I don't usually use pastel colours but I had lots of fun putting this one together!
These next 2 are just one's I was playing with for my stamp club but decided on the picnic scene (see earlier post)Love the "arty" look on this one, and the colour combo is really cool! I think it's the different shapes that give this card that little bit of an edge. Sets used are Great Friend and Frames with a Flourish!

I took the inspiration for this one from the cover of the USA cat from their Fall/Winter 2008, especially the fact that I have Eastern Influences. How could I not, it has birds in it!!! :0)

And now for the one's I'm demonstrating in my Stamp-a-stack on Wednesday 23rd September
( I have 3 places left if anyone is interested in booking in!!)
Fifth Avenue Floral! WOW this set I've always wanted and then when I got it I struggled with what to do with it!! The more I play though, the more I love it! Such a great buy!!Also I'm sooo loving bright colours this season, it's all started with me being pregnant!! Strange but true. I'm not one to usually go for these colours but they keep "popping-up" he he!!

And lastly this one! I always design 2 cards for my stamp-a-stacks, that way the 2 separate tables can work on one card then swap! I don't use the Big bold birthday set very often so I really wanted to showcase this set, I love these colours together as well!!

Well best be off, need to enjoy that gorgeous sunshine before the rain comes again....
Have a super weekend!!
Smiles Sharnee :0)

Due to the HUGE list of products for these cards, I'm not going to individually name everyone. So if one of them takes your fancy and your not sure what I used then PLEASE email me! I'm more than happy to list it for you!!! Thanks for understanding! :0)

A card for Emma

Not so long ago a sweet little girl Emma Jordan was dedicated! My beautiful Friend Vanessa is the super mum (and wonderful lady who got my blog up and running) and her Dad, Phillip is celebrating his first Father's day today! Happy Father's day to all you Dad's out there!!
So due to the fact that the celebrations were in Melbourne I made a card for Emma and sent the most gorgeous silver shoes over for her special day!
I'm really enjoying my sowing machine at the moment, especially the fact that I've left it out since making the rag dolls and that's were it's stayed....
I hope that your day is super and your weekend has been fabulous!!!

Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge #16

As you can tell I'm really into my All in the Family set at the moment! Isn't that always the way (well it is with me) that you don't use a stamp set for AGES and then all of a sudden it's the only one you turn to for that "perfect" card!!
Well that's how it was for this one for Dawn's colour Challenge!! I did get my inspiration from 2 cards I've seen recently, one being Tina's awesome Christmas card HERE and the other being from a fellow Aussie who's also entered the challenge, Amanda HERE! Who would have thought of making a Father's day card?? Not me, I don't ever really now that I don't have a Dad, but I have children who have a Super duper Dad and so they need a card to give to him!! YAY!! I couldn't have picked the colours better myself for a male themed card so I was off and racing!!
Here it is...
I have the kids approval already, that is that they look like them!! And Hannah was most pleased to know that she was one of the treasures passing a pressie to DAD! So lets hope now Allan loves it on Sunday!!
Have a fabulous day, Smiles and Hugs

Pop-Up Fun and Ohhh so cute!!

Hello! Hello, Hello!!
Do you every make a card when you sit back and say WOW!! I did that?? It happens to me often, I do get quite surprised with some of the little creations that come from my head to paper! In saying that I have my wonderful group of Paper Doll stampers on Thursday (my stamp club) and we are doing Pop-Up cards. Last year I did this class and it was one of the highlights of the whole year, so the pressure was on to come up with something spectacular!!!!
So here is my SPECTACULAR....
Ohhh isn't it gorgeous!! I LOVE IT!!! The idea came from an invitation that Amanda made with the Trendy trees on a hill and the amazing Parisian Breeze DS paper for the sky. I also knew that I wanted to use the All in the Family set, one that doesn't make an appearance very often! So I went from there. I so excited about the picnic blanket, and the cute dog!
Of course my children were all trying to guess which one was Mummy & Daddy and which one was them, though I didn't even think of that when I put together my little people, I was just thinking of a Country picnic with lots of people!!
If you'd like to know how to make a pop-up let me know, I can post a step-by-step if you like!
Happy day to you all,
Smiles Sharnee :0)
