Just Add Ink Challenge #14

I knew that I couldn't let this challenge past me by.... WHY do you ask??
Well it's JUST ADD VINTAGE!!! Ohhhh goodie!! This is totally up my alley! SO this morn while the rain fell and my precious ones were happily learning about Dogs (from Bindi of course!) I got busy in the office and whipped up this....

I knew when I first saw this set that it was going to join my happy stamping collection ASAP!! So of course I needed to use it for my vintage card! In saying that I'm not sooo sure that Pink is a vintage colour, doesn't blue and cocoa come more to mind....... ummmm anyhow that's what I did and I'm really happy with the end result!!
Best be off though, Chooks to clean, winter veggie patch to plant, hubbie to cuddle!!

it's been a while

Hello, HELLO!! How are you???
I'm super great but also been SUPER busy!!! Hence the absence! But I'm up early and so here I am!! I want to show you some flower cards that I made to kick start my newest stamp club!

You may remember these from an older post HERE and as I love them soooo much (thanks Tina) I thought I'd use the new and soooo pretty Cottage Wall DSP in the Autumn, Winter Mini. Who would have ever thought that I'd buy a pack of Orchid Opulence!! he he

So what has been the latest thing you have done?? Have you had time to stamp and play?? I have, but then not had the time to post all about my latest creations!! Hopefully I'll be back with some challenge cards over the weekend! I've missed them in this last 2 weeks!

Until the next time, have a super duper Friday Family Fun day (as we call it here in the Torrents's household, homemade pizza for tea, eaten whilst parked on our picnic rug in front of a kiddie movie! Love Friday Family Fun Day!!!)

the joy of creating!

Do you ever take a step back and check out the space you are TRYING to work in!!?? As I was preparing for stamp club and Kim and my Autumn/Winter launch I did exactly that... rolled back me chair and had a good look at the mess I had created!!

Of course I've worked in much worse!! (As I'm sure you all have!!) It's kinda fun actually when you're really on a roll and the tape pieces are mounting up, packets of brads and bits of ribbon are collecting and your blotting paper is getting all excited about what will get stamped on him NEXT!!
I'm sure the ink pads, card stock and stamp sets are eagerly waiting, hoping that today will be their turn to make something wonderful. They sit there thinking to themselves
"Ooohh, I'd work well with that, PICK ME, PICK ME!!"
Then as their work is done and they (patiently) wait to be cleaned and popped back in there rightful place (which could be a few days..) they happily chit chat about life's going on's and boast excitedly about there latest "project!!"

Just Add Ink Challenge #12

Here it is that time of the week again and time for the Just Add Ink challenge! YAY it's a sketch which is kinda cool as I'm really learning to enjoy these.
Sadly though the card I am needing is for a very old (as in we've know them for a long time) friend of the families who have just recently found out that they only have months to live. What's super hard about this particular wonderful man is that he knew my Dad. Soooo to now know that he too will soon pass just makes it all very, very hard.
In saying that what a privilege I have to be able to send them a hand made card, full to overflowing with love, thoughts and prayers for this special family!! That's one of the beauties of craft/card making isn't it, we can show people we care with that little something extra...
here's the sketch
here's my card
and a little closer on that flower! I am enjoying the new DSP from the Autumn mini and the cool techniques of ruffled ribbon and sponging on the sides!!

hugs to you all,
Sharnee :0)

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #63

It's been awhile since I've been able to join the lovely Karen over at the sweetest thing but I really wanted to break the drought on the sketch challenges and give this one a go! I ordered a pack of the new DSP Cottage Wall, it has a lovely mix of colours including one of the new in colours Rich Razzelberry, then Old olive and Orchid Opulence. I've never really picked Orchid Opulence to do anything but it's surprised me and I quite like it!! Trust Stampin Up! to come up with great new colour combo's!!
I love the stamp I've chosen here and don't seem to use it enough so it was my challenge to use it with the sketch!

Then here is a close up of the edges, I just simply sponge dauberd them with old olive. It's a really soft effect, unlike just rubbing the sides directly onto the ink pad. (had this idea given to me by the fabulous Carli! HUGE WAVES TO YOU MY DEAR FRIEND!!)

It's been so super wonderful having time to play over the Easter break, hopefully it won't be long before you see me again with another card to post!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #20

Do you ever see some colours and think to yourself, "that's never going to look right!?"
Well these particular colours from the talented Keesh were screaming this to me!!! However they have surprised me and look what I was able to create using them.

I'm soooo excited about how cute and CHEAP this little tea cup is from the latest and most wonderful Autumn/Winter mini! Only $11.95!! Then of course while I was on a roll with my sewing machine I had to add the ribbon!

Lesson for today... don't judge a challenge by it's colours, you never know what delightful creation you can come up with!!

Have a lovely Autumn day,

Embellish Stitching Colour Challenge

This is another card I excitedly made today whilst my wonderful family were scattered around, some out water skiing, some at friends places and one in bed sleeping!
Here is the fabulous inspiration picture from the latest challenge at Embellish Magazine

I love any opportunity to sew on my machine and now that I have it set up ALL the time (so much so it's heavy with dust) I did a little sketch and came up with this...

I love how super duper the ribbon turned out, and the tree too!!! Thanks so much for popping by, Smiles Sharnee :0)

Just Add Ink Challenge #11

I must say that it was really strange to not have any boundaries with the latest Just Add Ink challenge..... all we had to do was... just add INK!!! Funny hey!
So I went on playing with one of my new sets Vintage Vogue from the Autumn mini! I wanted to also stamp on the very versatile twill tape so here is my "no boundaries" card!!

I sooo love all the swirls and vintage bits to this set! The flowers are pretty easy to cut out also which is nice!
Hope that your Easter weekend has been special and relaxing, I will have some more cards to post in the next day or two that I was able to complete in some of my other favourite challenges! Until then, Smiles Sharnee :0)
