SUO challenges #121 - Mother's Day

With Mother's Day just around the corner the fabbo ladies at SUO are running a challenge all about just that.... Mother's Day! I ran a Mother's/daughters class for a group of wonderful ladies on the weekend and this is what we made....

This particular one is being sent off to WA for my friends Mummy, she loves Purple so I went a little crazy with the yummy Blackberry bliss! Soooo love the look of those flowers!

Then with the wallet, once you take off the belly band you see in first greeting on the inside...
Keep opening it up and you see some room for special words from children
or spots for some extra photo's....

Lastly, when fully opened you have room for photo's or your own personal message!

This is such a versatile gift, great for any occasion! It's called the Photo Wallet, and I found it HERE. Everyone had a wonderful time and needless to say were all very happy and totally ready with that special gift for Mum/Nan!

SUO challenges #111 - Tag you're it!

With Christmas day only 12 sleeps away I've been busy making tags and gifts and making some special packaging. So with SUO challenges featuring a Tag You're it challenge I was in!

This little package was for my children's gym teachers. I made them a selection of cards for the year to come and simply wrapped them in a brown lunch bag. Then with a tree punched out in some wonderful All is calm DSP (on sale now) added to a pre-cut tag from Under the Tree Tag a bag Accessory kit (also on sale) a silver star (cut with the star framelits,) twine (that also comes in the kit) and some very wonderful All is calm washi tape, burlap ribbon, pool party cotton ribbon and finally the word "love" stamped from Many Merry stars stamp set.....

You have your self a little Christmas tag! YAY! I must say I'm really liking the soft blue and green for Christmas colours, I'm usually a red and green girl but this is most certainly taking my fancy! What do you think? What colours do you like best at Christmas time?
Thanks for popping by, Merry Christmas to you!

SUO Challenge #108 - The treat's the thing

Who doesn't like a nicely packaged gift?? If you ask me "It's ALL about the Packaging!!" SO when I found that SUO challenges were doing a theme on treat boxes and the like I decided to get some pretty packaging ready for my Christmas cooking.
I SOOO love the boxes that Stampin' Up! have to offer and this one is AWESOME for cookies.... I'm thinking more shortbread actually!! I've decorated it with some DSP from Lullaby and Under the Tree specialty DSP. The little tree stamp is from 25 Days, just add a little greeting if you want the number to be covered up!! PERFECT!

Can't wait to add the final touch of goodness (in only about 8 weeks time...eekkkkk!!) But at least I'm getting organized!! YAY! Thanks SUO for the great inspiration,

SUO challenges - #107 out in the woods {feathers}

When I saw that SUO challenges had a challenge about the woods I was keen to join in! (sadly I've just missed the link up but still wanted to show you!)
I thought about what I love in the woods and of course birds came to mind! We love to look out for birds when in the forest and especially to find a feather is a real bonus!!

This card is using my latest fav stamp set Choose Happiness with some handmade punch art feathers! The DSP is Back to black and the sweet little paper clip from the new Basic Hodgepodge clips! I'm really happy with this card and can't wait to ink up Choose happiness again really soon!
Thanks for popping by, hope you like my take on the challenge!

SUO challenges #95 featuring flowers

There are loads of wonderful challenges around at the moment, especially involving flowers!! SO here I have made a card for my dear friends birthday with exactly that!
I used the off cut piece of the Apothecary die as the main piece on my card, stamped a few splashes of silver gorgeous grunge and added some ribbon and silver paper to make the rose look like a winner's pin! Add a large pearl to the center (my rose is made using the new spiral die and some co-ordinations card stock then sanded!) and lastly paper piercing in the shape cut out!! YAY I LOVE co-ordination!!

Quite an easy card really but I'm super happy with how it looks!! Go and check out the amazing creations at SUO challenges and be inspired!! Just in time for Mother's Day!!

Just Add Ink #210 & SUO #94 - An Easter card in a box

With a new fun technique to play with I wanted to make an Easter card in a box and at the moment Just Add Ink's latest challenge is add an Easter box or basket and SUO is all about Easter too!!!
(hopefully the card in a box is allowed over at JAI?!?!.....)
I'm loving the colour combo of the Fresh prints DSP in the current mini so with Real red, Pool party and whisper white I came up with this Easter box card.

I've been playing with making some kind of frame for a main embellishment or stamped image, this one I've created using the oval embossing folder, cut out the middle and tore around the edge. The Easter egg is made from one of the elegant stamps in the Lovely Romance stamp set which I clear embossed. (though if you look closely you can see some speckles of white which must of got mixed into my clear!!!) I then used the PERFECT EGG DIE from the Backyard basics Framelits set!! YAY!!

I wanted to create a different background than that of the DSP so chose the sweet doily, cutting down on the two sides to slip it down the box a little more!
I know I'll be making LOADS more of these types of card/boxes, they are soooo much fun!! Do check out what the fabbo ladies at JAI  and SUO have made, they always have the most amazing, inspiring things to get those creative juices flowing!!!!

SUO Challenges #88 - Heartfelt Banner designer kit

With a birthday party to prepare for I opened my new Heartfelt banner designer kit (from the Sale-a-bration flyer starting 28th Jan!) to make a sweet decoration for Hannah. At the moment over at SUO challenges they are showing off their new goodies in a challenge so this was perfect to join in on!!
I got some fun photo's of her printed then sanded all the edges. I  followed the picture for the layout (why re-invent the wheel!?) of the banner but added my own touches with stamped doilies and stamping on the fabric pennants.

I soooo love the felt balls that are included in the pack, there is even a needle
to thread them on the twine included!! FUN!!
Hannah loved her bunting when she woke up and saw it, I love it too, once the birthday celebrations are over I will change the pictures again...... such a fabbo pack!! YAY! (and all for FREE when you spend $90 or more during SAB starting 28th Jan!)

SUO Challenge #87 Colours of January!

I'm here to show another card I've had the delight in making during this last week! The challenge is the colours of January over at SUO!! My very clever down-line Bron is one of the designers there along with a whole bunch of lovely ladies!! SO what do I think when I consider the colour of January???
EASY!!! NEW colour combo's!! With the Occasions Mini nearly released and the long awaited for Sale-a-bration catty there is always some fresh, fun new colours that have been mixed together just screaming to be played with!! SO play with them I did!!!

Colour combo here is Bakes brown sugar, Tangerine tango, coastal cabana, so saffron and very vanilla!! It's all part of the funky new Retro Fresh Suite!!! LOVE!!!! The Peachy Keen stamp set is in the up and coming mini (goes live 28th Jan) which is my feature on this card! Along with the co-ordinating On Film framelits. Then you'll notice some little gold heart on vellum!! Ohhh that's a fabbo new pack of printed vellum in either gold or silver!! YIPPEE!!!

Have a look at that wooden arrow!! Essentials wooden elements are a amazing pack of wooden goodness!! and lastly the washi tape, again all part of the new Retro Fresh Suite!!! When stamping on these it's best to use your stamp-a-ma-jig that way you'll have perfect placement!!

I took the time to stamp on the inside again with another fun frame and the greeting from From my Heart. I sponged on some of the baked brown sugar ink to soften the clean edges and give it a "retro" look.
So there you have my take on the current SUO challenge!! Loved joining in and can't wait to show you more crafty goodness in the next few days!!
