Just Add Ink Scrapbooking Challenge #24
As you may have read HERE I've just put together a calendar for myself and my dear friends who live in Nowra. It was their Christmas gift! Teresa and I get together each month to do some pages, chat, hang out and do what we love.... SCRAP!! We were both down a page and we needed a male one so before posting it off I got busy making the final page!! When you're in a hurry and feel the pressure inspiration is a MUST and so i turned to the fabbo JAI ladies for their latest challenge..... Just add a date!
AWESOME!!! This will work a treat! In saying that I don't have a photo on my page so I hope I'm still eligible to enter the challenge......
Here is my page....
A close up of the date! I cut the numbers from the Soho Subway DSP and then stamped over them with the fabulous grunge stamp set! The little date is with the rotary stamp!
Some very cool island indigo chevron ribbon, and the burlap ribbon (LOVE!!!) with a retired button and some twine. You can also see some wood grain embossing from the great wood grain embossing folder! I've edged around the naturals ivory ready for the photo of Andrew who's birthday month this is!
What do you think?? Is it a good guy page?? What favourite things do you like to add to your blokey pages?? Why not give the JAI add a date challenge a go too!! See you again soon,

Scrap and Music: Sketch #17.... Like a Prayer
How about this very groovy sketch and some equally great words over at Scrap and Music at the moment! Well with some scrapping very much needed (it feels like AGES!!!) I got to it with the last few pages I needed for my 2014 calendar!!
I had these totally wonderful pictures of Sapphire and Reuben (our little cousin) and Sarah my sister and I that will be just perfect for my "October" next year! Can't imagine just how much they will have grown in another year, so it will be really special to remember them at one! I just got some super sweet Valentine's gift bags so wanted to use them for sure! I'm also having sooo much fun with vellum and silver at the moment (with all my Christmas cards) and stars have ALWAYS been a fav for me!! SO here are some close ups of my page......
I made this rose from THIS tut and then popped some crystal effects on the edges with my finger and sprinkled silver glitter on! The star row is made with the star die from the Thinlits circle pack!
Here is the sweet little Valentine's gift bags..... I've popped some vellum inside for my journalling and topped it with the bakers twine! Those little silver splatters are with the stamp from Gorgeous grunge and the silver ink pad in the mini!
My title "LIKE A CHILD" is words from the song "like a prayer" and the die here is the Tasteful trim which I've just edged the scallop one in real red and the other is cut with vellum.I forget about the doilies sometimes, they are such a pretty embellishment and the soft blue buttons all make my page complete!

DIY Christmas Star (made from wooden sticks)
If you are looking for an easy gift idea that looks really lovely and is very in-expensive, then this wooden star is the gift idea for YOU!
Just gather yourself up some sticks, about the same thickness and then cut them to the same length!. Then place them on top of each other in lots of two. From there form your "star" shape. Next grab some ribbon or twine or string and wrap it around the end a good few times. Tie a knot.
Continue doing this until you have 5 points all tied together! In the center where it crosses over I've also tied a little string to help hold my star in place, this way it doesn't all fall in to itself! Then it's ready to hang!
This makes a fantastic gift, something you've handmade always does!! What do you think? Any good ideas you have to share too? Another fabbo idea I saw over at Traveling Mama is HERE! Very groovy indeed!
Well with only 6 more sleeps I hope that you are getting your lists done and enjoying all of the Christmas spirit at this special time of year!

Perfectly Rustics Challenge #13 - Washi tape
I'm CERTAIN that somewhere in your crafting supplies there lays some...... WASHI TAPE!!!!! If not then go and grab some.... NOW!!! You'll never, EVER look back when it comes to this very fun, groovy, pretty and practical stuff!!
It only seemed fitting then to give it the lime light and so Kim thought we'd do a challenge using Washi tape! There are sooooo many things you can achieve with this fabbo tape, here is my take on the challenge.
A Washi tape flower! I found the inspiration for it HERE and gave it my personal flare by adding a button for the center flower. This card is for my extra lovely friend Heather who LOVES red and who's birthday was just the other day! I even stamped the inside!!! YAY!
See those cool arrows??? Some of the new stamps ready for Valentine's Day (set called Love you More) Very versatile!!
I hope that you can join us this time around at Perfectly Rustics, we are leaving the challenge open over Christmas so there really is no excuse to play along too!!!

Quick Christmas cards - stars
Here is another super duper quick card!! All you need is a star punch of some sort, I've used the sweet sized star from the Thinlits collection and punched them out in a row. The cut them in strips of three, (or any other uneven number you like) and stick them down with some washi tape!!! DONE!!!
If you're wondering what to do with all your punched out stars then make another card like this.....
I've used the very groovy font of Merry Christmas from my Christmas Rotary stamp (from the mini) on both my cards! SOOOOOO EASY!! What do you think? Have you made some super easy (but very modern and cool) Christmas cards this year?? Love to see them!

Quick Christmas cards - A tree
I had the pleasure of doing a stamping class with a group of ladies last Thursday and the theme was of course Christmas!! I needed to come up with some easy cards and this was one of them!
I saw ideas like this on Pinterest so with some of the Season of style washi tape, the cute star from the Circle Thinlits and the larger "banner" triangle from the bigshot die Perfect Pennants it was most certainly easy!
How are your Christmas cards going this year?? Though I've made quite a few I've not sent out any ....yet!!

There you have it!! Stamp at least 10 in no time at all!!! YAY!! I'll be sure to pop in again soon to show you some more easy cards, until then be sure to check out my family blog and see what my super son Zeke has been doing!! While you are there be great if you left him some comment love!!

Perfectly Rustics challenge #12 Christmas gifts
So here this time we are helping to inspire you with Christmas gifts at Perfectly Rustics!!
Here is my idea....... An Advent Calender!
I've used the Peek-a-boo bigshot die and then stamped all the assorted boxes with different number stamps and also the fun Rotary stamp too! Then I've stuck it all onto a piece of DSP (retired newsprint sheet) and punched some holes to thread the ribbon through for hanging! Inside I've typed out a number of fun activities and questions and then glued it all down with the 2 WAY GLUE pen!! Amazing little adhesive that allows you to stick things like a sticky note, over and over!!
I'm sooo super happy with how they turned out and have made at least 5 now, sending some over the straight and given some out to my dear friends ready for their countdown to Christmas!! YAY!
Be sure to pop on over to Perfectly Rustics and see the other fabbo creations, or perhaps join in yourself and show us your handmade gift!
